"In 2016/17 we had our proposed extension (above the garage) and internal remodelling works professionally designed and drawn up. After this we went out to a number of contractors for pricing, but were attaining huge costs and a number of contractors pulled out because it was my firm that undertook the drawings! We have worked with Nick and his firm NJ Cooper Joinery & Building Contractors Ltd off and on for various projects in our house over many years, but only considered him at the end of the tender process as we thought it might be too big for NJC.

How wrong we were.

What you have to remember with Nick is that he submits his price totally open book and it is mainly him and his assistant Ben, with inputs from specialist subcontractors as required (Electrician, Plumber,Tiler, Roofer.) All of these people are highly skilled and extremely pleasant to have around the house, and all are really well programmed and marshalled by Nick. My engineer and the Building Control Inspector only had good things to say of the quality of work seen. ‘I haven’t seen work like this for years’, ‘where the hell did you get him from’ etc etc.

The quality of the work is outstanding because Nick has a great pride in what he does. There are no short cuts and this means that the project may take longer than you envisaged but it is easily worth it. Very approachable and explains really well any issues or changes that may come up. We liked the process of paying for the works completed on a weekly basis and we agreed all additions and reductions as they happened so that decisions can be made.

I cannot recommend NJC more highly. All of his team were a pleasure to have around and we have a completed scheme that exceeds what we hoped for."
